Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, opening
Ceremony's, continue to prove they’re up for the design challenge of helming
Kenzo with their Fall 2012 collection – and not only because Karlie Kloss
opened via an escalator leading the way for a model choreography that was among
the season's best.
Kenzo’s collection of the Fall
2012 was pattern heavy, inspired by home décor, which was most evident in the
weighty fabrics and the repeated black and white striped, geometric, and zigzag
prints that brought wallpaper to mind. Animal heads topped sweaters, and bright
pops of red, blue, and green were shown alongside the predominantly black and
rusty hued looks. The silhouettes were mainly fitted, contrary to much of what
we’ve seen on the Paris runways thus far.
